Plastic waste is most dangerous to the environment, as it takes several thousand years to decompose, releasing during that time many toxic compounds. Fortunately, almost all items made of plastic can be recycled, and at Skelv we know where to sent plastic for best value for money recycling.

PET	Polyethylene terephthalate

PETOne of the most widely used plastics. It features high strength, ductility, excellent machinability, which makes it useful for a wide range of applications

r/PET – Polyester plastic derived from recycled PET bottles. It features high mechanical strength and impact resistance. It is fully suitable for contact with food

HDPE	High-density polyethylene

High-density polyethylene, widely used in production of food packaging and cleaning product packaging. It is exceptionally resistant to mechanical damage.

PVC	Polyvinyl chloride

A plastic most commonly used in construction, its use in contact with food has been significantly restricted. It is used to manufacture pipes, floor coverings, casings for doors and windows, and insulation for electrical cables.

LDPE	Low Density Polyethylene

Owing to its parameters, it is used in production of all items that contain plastic, including: films, containers, valves, accessories, caps, and even household appliances, toy, sports or electronic goods. On the downside, LDPE is susceptible to radiation, but its advantage is resistance to chemicals.

PP	Polypropylene

One of the most widely used plastics in the industry. It features high chemical resistance, is non-toxic and harmless to humans. Polypropylene is widely used for production of food packaging, laboratory and medical equipment, cable and wire insulation for automotive parts, toys, and furniture.

PS	Polystyrene/td>

It is a thermoplastic material, rather brittle, featuring low elasticity and resistance to deformation. Owing to its properties, it is used for production of items in contact with food. The process of foaming polystyrene produces polystyrene foam.

It is a collection of different plastics. These plastics should not be used for food packaging, as it may contain bisphenol A (BPA), which is dangerous to our health. If packaging is not marked as "BPA free," heating it and using for hot drinks and meals is not recommended.
